dc.description.abstract | The ever changing environments within which organizatlons operate
has made them to re-think Human Resource Planning. These are
changes in technology, office automation, changes in organization
structures while designing effective succeSS10n strategies,
peoples' attitudes to work, information technology, streams of
mergers, acquisitions, international alliances, globalization of
businesses, government legislation, competitors, and demographic
changes. Faced with these numerous environmental influences,
organizations have started to take their Human Resources as an
investment and not a cost- to use the old adage:'people are our
most important resource, our only competitive edge.'
